Lenovo’s ring AI allow me to control 3D PC with fingers clicking like a magician

You may think you already understand the purpose of the Snart Ring. It measures your steps, stress levels, sleep – you get it. But wait! Lenovo’s concept AI Smart Ring is a completely different fishing pot.

I admit that if I tried it right now at the World Congress here in Barcelona, it looked like it and felt similar to the rings of Skart I wore before. He had a wedding ring profile of a man with a slightly too large surroundings of the sides. But the form is one thing, but quite differently.

The purpose of this ring is to allow control based on gestures Lenovo’s Thinkbook 3D Notebook (Currently also concept). The notebook itself has a directional 3D backlight that allows 2D and 3D content to appear side by side on the same screen. The ring allows you to manipulate this 3D content, spin it surrounds and upside down – here is how.

With a ring worn on the pointer finger, you can use your thumb to double tap (enter or go forward) or a single tank (to return) on the illuminated dot and then swipe both side to move around. In the demo I was shown, I could walk between 3D models, including T. Rex and spacecraft, and explore them from all angles simply with a gentle grazing ring.

The best of all was that the ring could feel when I grabbed my fingers. In the demo, I was able to go through the slides simply by clicking with your thumb and middle finger. I didn’t even touch the ring, but that could be vibration in my hand. I felt a bit like a wizard – although the wizard who was a slide (and if I was a wizard, I would probably use my powerries to avoid being in business).

The click was trouble -free, but the gesture control was difficult to hang up and not always worked exactly as it should. It is important to realize that it is only a concept so far and as a concept it is the one I liked. Wearable technology often ends with variations on the topic – this topic is to monitor fitness – but that showed a feeling of imagination and ambition that I would like to see more in the growing market for intelligent rings.
